After threescore years and eleven on this earth, my mother died.
I woke up into a new and strange country that was far away from anywhere I had ever lived.
It was scary and sad to know that there was no way to go back to the home I'd known.
With drooping wings ye Cupids come,
And scatter roses o'er her tomb,
Soft and gentle as her heart;
Keep here your watch, and never part.
So so sorry for your loss Eric. She sounded like an amazing woman and I'm sure she was proud of you as well.

"Please send me your last pair of shoes, worn out with dancing as you mentioned in your letter, so that I might have something to press against my heart."

I am really sorry for you and your family.
I hope your father can get through.
You probably don't need any advice, but it is really important to speak about her when you're all together.
Kind regards

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. My father died relatively recently. I know there isn't much that I could possibly say. Hoping you are well.

Sincere condolences; this must be such a hard loss. Over the years you’ve given us a loving if sometimes exasperated portrait of mother’s exuberantly capricious character and irreverent, loopy joie de vivre; even those of us who did not know her can sense what a rare and irreplaceable person she was. I wish you any consolation that might be available to you from friends, family, faith, and memory (where those who have left us live on, often with bewildering and painful vividness) as you mourn her.
